Kingdom Workers Represent Christ

June 26, 2016

  • Kingdom Workers Represent Christ - Patrick Wheeler

I remember being really influenced by other people’s opinions… if I’m not careful it can still bug me today. For me, in Middle School, this didn’t mean that I went overboard on wearing the latest styles of clothes (the stuff that you wouldn’t be caught dead in today) or that I got caught up in the things that get you in trouble with your parents. My struggle dealt more with the fact that I didn’t always want to step up and use my gifts for God.  When it came to the things that I was gifted in like sports, music or just making friends… I thought that there had to be someone better that God could use. Did God really want to use an average athlete or a B student for his great plan to tell the world of His love?

When I read 2 Corinthians I realize that Paul also struggled a bit with this as well.  People were bashing Paul because he wasn’t quite as good of a speaker as other people the Corinthians had heard.  I can imagine this was tough because other people’s opinions can really make you wonder if you are the person for the job.

In verse 20 Paul challenges his readers and gives them a responsibility that we today are still responsible to uphold…He tells them (US) to be ambassadors of Christ and to use your gifts for God.  2 Cor. 5:20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

This world can really take shots at your self-confidence but no matter how you feel, Christ has called you to be an ambassador.

To be an Ambassador is to be a representative, and each of us as Christians have a responsibility to represent him. He wants to make his appeal through you!

Today, I have confidence that Christ wants to use me in big ways to represent him. Each day I look for opportunities to represent him.  Will you join me in searching for ways to represent Christ today?
